We are glad that we were able to attend the 38th Annual Culpeperfest yesterday, June 12, 2015. It was very nice to see the many businesses that came out to participate and the more than 3,000 attendees. We want to thank the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event. The event was a huge success for them, which happens to be one of their fundraisers since they are privately funded. The Chamber of Commerce made some changes this year including the venue, the cost (both vendors and visitors) and a few other things. The venue was changed to Eastern View High School. Moving the event indoors is helpful in the event of bad weather. They also changed the cost associated with the event. They made tickets available online before the event for free while charging $5 at the door. They decided to remove the catering and the beer trucks this year.
While we were there, we handed out public safety material. We also talked to many people and handed out information about joining local fire & rescue departments. It takes many people, that are willing to volunteer their time, to make a volunteer station operate smoothly. We were also handing out information about our upcoming Annual Fair including the Parade, Car/Truck/Motorcycle/Tractor Show, Lawn and Garden Tractor Pull and the Honorary Fire Queen Contest.
Thanks again to the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce and to the more than 3,000 people that came out to the event. We enjoyed seeing everyone!
