FIRE DEPARTMENT AUXILIARY

The BVFD Auxiliary was formed in 1951 to provide support for the Fire Department. They sponsored dances, had cakewalks, dinners and sold various items such as vanilla and baking powder to help raise money for the Fire Department. They equipped the fire hall with tables and chairs with their many fun raising ventures. They sponsored the first carnival in August 1951 and they turned that responsibility over to the firemen in August 1955.  (See Charter Members of the Auxiliary Listing)

As you can see the Auxiliary has been very active from the conception. The first fireman's dinner was held on January 25, 1952 , at which time a check was presented to the fire department for $200. At our April 2, 2005 banquet, we presented a check to the Fire Department for $40,000. 

We support the Fire Department by serving dinners to organizations, Christmas dinners, bus tours, auction sales, and bingo every Saturday night. 

We continue to work together to support the BVFD in their efforts to protect and serve the community. We now have a Jr. Auxiliary for those who are at least 14 years of age. They are eligible to join the Auxiliary when they are sixteen.  

Again, the Auxiliary to the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department is proud to assist the department in its efforts to help this community. Men and women both are welcome to join this fine organization.  Our meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the fire hall.   Just submit your name and interest through our info address and someone will quickly contact you.
